From February 16th to April 1st, international artist Damien Poulain's solo exhibition - Thickness of Time will be held at Art Works Paris Seoul Gallery. In this exhibition, Poulain presents works based on memories of past trips to Korea and personal impressions of the wondrous nature of the peninsula. This solo exhibition is the first painting exhibition by the artist who has further expanded the artistic boundaries of Poulain, which has been mainly engaged in murals and public art projects. This series contains the results of a transformation process that transforms memories of shapes, colors, and natural elements found in architecture into several unique combinations. The circularity of life, nature, and the solar system are explored through the playful use of the universal language of geometry and color to translate personal relationships with time and emotion into paintings.
오는 2월 16일부터 4월 1일까지 세계적인 아티스트 다미앙 뿔랑(Damien Poulain)의 개인전 - Thickness of Time(시간의 두께)가 아트웍스파리서울 갤러리(Art Works Paris Seoul Gallery)에서 개최된다. 뿔랑은 이번 전시에서 지난 한국 여행의 추억과 반도의 경이로운 자연에 대한 개인적인 인상을 바탕으로 한 작업들을 선보인다. 이번 개인전은 그동안 벽화 및 공공 예술 프로젝트를 주로 진행했던 뿔랑의 예술적 바운더리를 더욱 넓힌 작가의 첫번째 회화전이다.이번 시리즈는 건축에서 발견되는 형태와 색채, 자연적 요소 등에 대한 기억을 몇 가지 독특한 조합으로 바꾸는 변형 과정의 결과물을 담았다. 생명, 자연, 태양계의 순환성은 뿔랑이 기하학과 색상이라는 보편적 언어를 장난스럽게 사용하여 시간과 감정과의 개인적인 관계를 그림으로 번역함으로써 탐구된다. |
